Quelle horreur!
Our friends at Domaine des Anges in Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy have an interesting story to tell related to the volcanic eruption. Their son was on a private jet out to break the world record for circling the globe. The flight was about to cross the North Atlantic when the eruption began and flights were shut down. And they were on track to break the record. Well, things turned out OK; they re-routed and still broke the record!
Apartment owners aren't complaining too much, I'd guess because what they're losing in new bookings they've made up in guests extending their stays. Barcelona has been relatively unaffected and if anything may be gaining as people are able to get there but not to northern Europe.
One of our Paris owners has a new apartment that is ideal for families or friends traveling together. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and is on the sixth floor of a building in the lovely 7th arrondissement. And it's not trop cher; 240 a night for a weekly booking and 260 for fewer than seven days. The address is midway between the Eiffel Tower and St-Germain-des-Pres, which makes both venues a moderate stroll away. Here's a photo:
