Busy with Barcelona

After a slow couple of weeks - my theory is people either had their plans made or were already on vacation - things perked up and we've booked three clients in Barcelona and one in Paris the past couple of weeks. It may be dumb luck, but the inquiries seemed to perfectly match the apartments we offer, which are not downmarket or super-luxe but are comfortable and well-located for couples and families.

The photo above is of a Barcelona apartment that offers old-world charm, modern comforts and a large terrace to boot!

Our own plans for September have progressed and we've now made all the bookings and transportation arrangements we need. The final train reservation proved to be a challenge, and we ended up paying slightly more than we wanted, but having the tickets in hand is a comfort. Not to mention a time saver as we can simply show up and board rather than waiting in line at the Perpignan, France station. Still, at about $50 each, the 3.5 hour ride to Barcelona will be comfortable and save us the stiff drop charge for a rental car picked up in France.

And here's a photo of the apartment we'll have for our last three days. We don't usually like studios, but this one is spacious and the mezzanine provides some separation from the living and kitchen areas so that one of us can snack or watch TV without disturbing the other very much.
