A couple of recent inquiries reminded us how much better it is to plan ahead for an apartment stay in Barcelona or Paris. One client recently booked for the Christmas season in Barcelona while another is asking about Paris in May 2011! Both had a lot to choose from.
While there are thousands of apartments in each city, there may be only a few that fit your tastes and budget, so starting early gives you a much better chance of getting the features and location that you've dreamed of. The photo above is of an apartment in the Eixample Dreta of Barcelona. The traditional building is midway between the Sagrada Familia cathedral and the classy Passeig de Gracia, yet is in a typical neighborhood. The owner has 16 apartments in all, but only three were available for the mid-October dates a client wanted. Here's a link to the description page:

It can be intimidating to place a deposit far in advance. But in both Barcelona and Paris a deposit - at least most of it - will be returned if a cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date. Still, we advise taking trip insurance just in case something comes up. Here's a link to one comparison site:
